BAT CampusGalerie

The Theatre reherasal space of Bayreuth University will serve as main registration site for ALA2015 on the morning of Wednesday, June 3rd, while june 3-6, 2015 the adjoining space of the BAT CampusGalerie will serve as Conference Headquarter, where vendors will sell their books and we proudly present an exhibition of works by the Paris-based African/-Diasporic Art Intervention AFRICA IS THE FUTURE.

Audimax: Keynotes & Roundtables

The Auditorium Maximus, the main lecture hall of the University of Bayreuth, was built in 1994 and acommodates 700 people.

  Panels  

GWI (Humanities I): Panels

The ALA Panels 2015 will take place at the Humanities building of Bayreuth University. The Humanities Building (GWI) is home to the Faculty of Language and Literature Studies that was established in 1977. On the top floor of GWI 8 state-of the art seminar rooms have been reserved for the presentation of the ALA panels.

Dining Hall (Mensa): ALA-Week of ”African(-Diasporic) Cuisine“

Lunch will be made available at the University‘s dining hall “Mensa“, where ALA participants will mingle with the University's staff and students.

In cooperation with the Mensa cooks the ALA conveners have conceptualised a “Week of African-Diasporic Cuisine“, where our cooks from Guerilla Cooking & friends will complement the Franconian menu available to ALA participants as well as all students and university-employees.

The ALA-badge will enable conference participants to daily obtain one free main dish, 1 side dish and 1 beverage. The meat/fish option is available in the general dining hall while the vegan option is available at the recently inaugurated extension building "Frischraum" (Fresh Space).

Botanical Garden of Bayreuth University: Caucus Luncheons

The Caucus Luncheons could be held in one of the greenhouses in the Botanical Gardens of the University of Bayreuth, which are equipped with a kitchen and all amenties.

City Hall Bayreuth: ALA Banquet

The ALA Banquet 2015 will be held in the very heart of the city of Bayreuth, at the Bayreuth City Hall, where the kitchen Staff of City Hall in cooperation with our very own Guerilla Cooking crew will conjure up a divine menue.
